In our high Southwest environment, keeping a garden healthy can be a real challenge. Finding a knowledgeable horticulturist who can diagnose problems correctly and recommend treatments that work can be even more of a challenge.

Our lead horticulturist, Tracy Neal has worked professionally with plants and soils in New Mexico for over 35 years. As a Certified Arborist, he draws on both his experience and current research to advise clients in how to care for their trees. From his background as both an organic gardener and a certified pest control operator, he knows how to deal with plant problems from a broad range of perspectives, with an emphasis on holistic garden management.
Linda Churchill, our Master Gardener, has developed and managed garden maintenance programs for local firms for many years. She has also worked with local soils and a variety of plants in her own garden here for over two decades. She has a special interest in native plants and regional ecosystems.
We draw on our extensive knowledge of a wide variety of plants, plus our experience with a broad range of fertilizers and amendments in local sites and soils, to help you create a soil building program tailored specifically to your garden. We can instruct you, or your garden maintenance people, in the proper shaping/pruning of woody plants, including roses and fruit trees.
When your plants aren’t thriving we will help you understand why, and what to do about it.
How we work:
If you’d like a consultation about garden care, or ideas for garden design, we’ll arrange to visit your site. Green Forward is pleased to offer this efficient service at a simple hourly rate. If the consultation becomes part of a broader design/installation process, we waive the fee for the first visit.
Green Forward can offer referrals to gardeners who can help with your ongoing garden maintenance needs, including putting our recommendations into practice.
